I will try to put some spoilers markers on the really not-to-spoil stuff. Unless you don't know how to finish an episode you struggle on, or already finished the game and you want 100% completion, you shouldn't read everything on this guide. Obviously there are a lot of spoilers here. There are 6 main sections in this guide, not including intro and conclusion: The "Beat Episode 3 icon" (why?), it's brown but should be green too. You unlock it in episode III (I'll come back on it during the guide too) Lake of the Dead: It should be in green but it's in black. Merry Christmas : when you beat the Christmas Minisode (I'll cover that in the guide later) Movie Buff (when you beat all four episodes) The sewers scream at me (unlockable in the theater street, so the menu) (secret achievement) OTHER: There are only 5 achievements not in these colors : (To see the unlocked icon for an achievement, go to the game Steam page and click on the "See all achievements" button, or click this link: Īchievements are a bit weird in this game, they won't show up right when you finish the actions of the game, you'll unlock them when you shutdown the game, so don't worry if you don't unlock the achievement right away, just quit once you finish an episode and come back. ![]() Their unlocked icons are pretty useful, since you can know the episodes they are unlockable from by looking at their background. Woman in White: A picture in the cabin shows one of these. There are 40 achievements in total on Steam for Lakeview Cabin.Video Game Cruelty Potential: You can kill one of the teenage girls relaxing right across the island you're on, and also kill a deer.Unwinnable by Design: Don't go doing the activities suggested by the author's description if you want to have the resources to survive the ending. There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Once the monstrous wife is down, you can attack her corpse till it's just a bloody mush, then the small fetus thing comes out and you have to kill it to really win. These facts combined with the bottles of booze strewn around suggest that the woman may have a legitimate grievance. Story Breadcrumbs: There is a picture of the woman over the bed, and the place she comes out of and drags you back to has some bubbles as though something was dumped there recently.Shotguns Are Just Better: The weapon that the protagonist uses.Although it's probably mainly intended as an Anti-Frustration Feature once you've had your Jump Scare. Schmuck Bait: The game tells you after you die, and the first time you meet the monster, that you can press 'O' to summon her, pretty much inviting this trope.Retraux: The game's graphics are done in the style of an 8-bit Nintendo game.Red Herring: There's a bunch of things you can do like killing and cooking the deer that don't help win the game.'Psycho' Strings: When you take an axe to your wife, each swing is punctuated by shrieking notes. And even when you've done that, you've still got to deal with her unborn child! Not Quite Dead: You can shoot your wife or set fire to her, but unless you reduce her to a bloody pulp, there's a chance she'll get up again. Can be combined with Full-Frontal Assault if he chooses to do this while fighting his wife. Naked People Are Funny: The PC can strip off his clothes for full pixelated nudity.Kill It with Fire: Works better on the chest burster than your wife, unless you manage to trap her in a cabin. It's the sound the deer makes after having its leg ripped off, and is the first warning that your wife is coming. Hell Is That Noise: At the beginning of the second night, a strange moan plays regardless of where you are on the island.Full-Frontal Assault: The main character can go naked and still fight.Sometimes a baby's cry can be heard out of nowhere. The playable protagonist is a father who must protect his child from Christmas-themed killers.Development Tamminen initially began developing the game as a small prototype with similar mechanics as the game and chose to turn it into a survival horror game. Additionally, in 2017, another minigame (unconnected to any of the other games) called Last Christmas became available. ![]() The minigames alongside Lakeview Cabin III, IV, V, and VI are, respectively, Lake of the Dead, Treasure of the Vampire Rednecks, Super Dad, and Space Psychos. ![]() ![]() The epilogue's plot is vague, though it has been interpreted as the details of the events that took place that inspired the movies. When each of the Lakeview Cabin movies are finished, there are minigames that can be played as well. Epilogue (also called Lakeview Cabin II) - This game is far simpler than the ones mentioned above, and is unlocked when the previous four are completely finished. Lakeview Cabin VI - In a space station collecting remains of the original cabin, a handful of janitors find themselves face to face with multiplying alien creatures who can travel through the station's built-in delivery system.
